Lessons to Take-Away
Wednesday 30th June 2010
Location: West Bromwich
Do places make you fat? Can fast food be healthy? How far can increased obesity be attributed to diet or sedentary lifestyle? How can the planning and design of the built environment influence how and what we eat when we’re on the move?
This conference will consider the quality of life impacts of the increasing availability of fast food. It will connect policies and thinking in health, education, planning and design. The core agenda will be the perceived relationship between the burgeoning numbers of hot food take-away outlets in our towns and cities and rising obesity levels, looking in particular at the eating environment in and around schools.
